Welcome to Destin, Florida!

National Geographic has called the Emerald Coast "A Top Place to Visit." TripAdvisor named the area a "Top Destination in the U.S." And Southern Living magazine has named the Emerald Coast the "Best Beach in the South" for 14 straight years.

Great Attractions

There is so much to do here, and, if you're like most visitors, you'll find you have to come back again and again to fit it all in. One of the things that sets the Emerald Coast apart from other stretches of beach is the number and quality of our attractions.

Great Events

You don't need a reason to come to the Emerald Coast, but while you're here you might as well enjoy our special events. Cultural activities, fun festivals, lecture series, athletic events... there's always something happening on our sugar-white shores.

Amazing Weather!

Destin and Northwest Florida's beaches has become one of America's premier vacation destinations. Although Summer is the most popular time for visitors, ask the locals and they'll tell you the best times of the year are Spring and Fall. The weather is more temperate and rates are low. Golfers, shoppers, fisherman and family have found the Destin to be a best bet all seasons of the year!

Easy to Get Here

They say that getting to your destination is half the fun. Well, we can’t imagine anything as fun as being on the Emerald Coast, but you’ll find that getting here is easy.

Those traveling by car will find easy routes to the beach from I-10. I-10 runs east/west only 30 miles north of our sparkling waters. Take State Highway 85 (Exit 56) or 285 (Exit 70) south from I-10. US Highway 98 is the east/west scenic route with spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico.

Vacationers arriving by air will have a choice of three airports - all within an hour's drive.

Domestic and international connections are a breeze at Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS), which offers more than 50 nonstop flights daily to primary hub cities across the nation. Flights are available from several major airlines, including Delta/ASA, American Eagle, Northwest, US Airways and Continental.

More connections and great fares may be available at Pensacola International Airport, about an hour away from the Emerald Coast with shuttle service to Ft. Walton and Destin.

Located in West Bay, near Panama City and Panama City Beach, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport proudly serves Delta and Southwest Airlines. These carriers offer daily flights to key US destinations. The airport is about an hour's drive from Destin.

Located in the heart of Destin, this airport hosts private and small charter flights. Don't get it confused with VPS, where commercial airlines depart and land.
